We are at 6 & 7 now. History is repeating itself…again. So what do we do?

We must turn the ship! The church cannot mimic the world and expect a different result. We are moving at a pace that is entirely too fast. We are spending too much and giving too little. We live better than any generation prior to us and yet we have less to show for it. Who do we really trust? We say we trust God, but do we really trust Him? The facts say we do not trust Him. We say God is our healer, but is He? God has become our last resort instead of our first response. Most Christians go to God only when all else has failed. In the beginning the early church was a community, and had its own culture. Today the culture of the world has wrapped itself around us like web. We have a program for everything and a title for every office. Bigger buildings, bigger bank accounts, nicer homes, finer clothes, more talent, more education, and more money, but almost NO spiritual power. Why?

The church is not dead and we can return to the place where God would have us be if we are willing to change. Remember, even the weak become strong when they are united. Perhaps it is time to take our focus off of the stars and simply follow the prophet Jeremiah’s words in Jeremiah 6:16, “This is what the Lord says: Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But you said, We will not walk in it.” The clock is ticking.
